FCE, An Igloo and #CanPL of course

FCE, An igloo and #CanPL of course

The Eddies. Well, they did give it their all, I think, so we’ll give them that. The result of the season certainly wasn’t what we all went into it hoping, but overall I do believe good times are still ahead for Footy in Edmonton.

I hope they continue to bring up young guys to give them a shot for the rest of the season. I have a feeling they’ve went through shit with Paulus to get here already. This isn’t even a knock on the guys in the starting eleven, just something I feel they’ve probably earned at this point.

Here’s a happy thought. Tosaint Ricketts could Jagr his way on over to Edmonton at the tail end of his career. Why not eh?

Here’s a random thought: Corea’s English is far better than I expected it to be. I’m sorry if that came across as racist. I feel like we would be friends, if we met, if that means anything.

I get tired of people asking me if I live in one, but it would be cool to see any soccer specific stadium in Edmonton have a retractable, igloo-like roof. It’s probably a tall order, but a man can dream goddamn it.

Are supporter groups killing soccer in Alberta’s Capital? I don’t even know what to say. I don’t think it would be alive with out them of course, but I don’t really know enough to weigh in on the situation. But I know they were instrumental in starting it, so if it fizzles out because of them, well, I feel like they may have earned it on some level. Shrug.

Atmosphere wise, yea, I’m sure it would help if everyone was more or less on the same page, and they aren’t yelling about some random bullshit unrelated to the game. But at the same time, as long as people focus on the game, I see no reason why they can’t coexist (although I’m not opposed if they want to re-form something new either, as long as the number of drums overall increases as a function of time, really).

Can CanPL have a “Trash Talk” facebook group? I just think that’d be swell.

Can CanPL do it’s best to coexist with the NHL/Junior Hockey? I hope so. It’s in our best interest to make a powerful ally as opposed to a powerful foe, and I feel like it’s one or the other.

Should CanPL provide a streaming service? Hey, do whatever you think will be best, suits. I’m behind you as much as I can be. My only advice is to try to look forward, not back, as much as possible. I realize that’s a bit wishy washy, but it’s a wishy washy moment next year not knowing what’s going to happen (At least from the Eddies? Never know what to think of NASL rumours)

I hope the Eddies join CanPL, obviously, but they have to make the best decision for them, and I understand that. The doors always open folks, as far as I’m concerned. Do what you gotta do.

Do yourself a favour and have a listen to this ya Rascals, if you’re reading this, I’m pretty sure we’re already bros(or broettes!) XD

It’s Stan Rogers and it never gets old. Talk to u beauties when the snow starts to melt.
