#1 Toronto FC Top 2014 Moments

1. Comeback victory over the Timbers

When the Timbers came to town, TFC was in desperate need of as many points as they could possibly collect. For those in attendance, things could literally have not got off to a worse start. What was just as bad as the early score line, was watching Mark Bloom and Will Johnson collide, breaking Johnson’s leg and ending his season. A Nick Hagglund give away led to a Fanendo Adi goal putting Portland up by one early. Shortly after, a Diego Valeri shot from a weird angle deflected off captain Steven Caldwell, putting the Timbers up by two.

Queue the epic comeback.

A redemption brace from Hagglund pulled the Reds level in the 70th. With one of the last kicks of the game, and from roughly 30 yards out, Michael Bradley whipped in a free kick that was screaming for a header. No header was there to be had, but it didn’t matter. Donovan Ricketts misread the bounce and was beat, giving TFC an unbelievable come back victory and keeping their slim playoff hopes alive.
